Date: 11 Jan 2009 (Sun) - Before Juan leaves for Australia...
Journey to: Batam island
Journey begins @ 9.40am (S'pore time) and departs from Batam @ 6.20pm (Batam time)
Meeting time: 8am @ Harbourfront Mac (for those who wanna have breakfast together else 9am)
Check-in time/Collection of tickets: 8.40am (1hr before ferry departs)
Planning for the day: Seafood feast (includes crabs, malay chicken & durians), farm visit, shopping & photo-taking etc...
$$$ per person: Penguin Ferry - $47 (2-way ticket)

- their time lack 1 hr behind us.. SG 5pm = Batam 4pm
- exchange rate SG $10 : $6000-$7000 indo

Now the exchange rate is SG$1 to IDR$7600, it is alot, things confirm cheap.

FYI.. a lot of pple asking. how much $ to bring to exchange.
To me Best is SG$100..
u can use visa over there to buy things. ex: each Polo T cost $50 above. Things they sell (food, etc) is much cheaper than SG price depend what.. i can say 20%above less cost.
another info is.. the currency of theirs always up and down. they keep changing their notes in 1 or 2yrs time. And u dont go there often. so is better not to keep their money. either u spend finish it or exchange lesser.
when u change back to SG $ u may find that u lost more. example u change SG$1 for $2.. when u exchange back to our currency maybe $2 for SG70cents.
so.. up to u how much u want to change. by the way u can change ur money at Batam.. the currency there higher. ex: SG change $7000. over there $7500.
u can change a little first. if not enough u can always change again.
